:- 5.0 out of 5 stars from James Williamson -- If you haven't read Dreamworms Book 1, do that first... : ...it will be well worth it. Dreamworms Book 2 is a continuation of Book 1. For all the cliffhanger crybabies out there, instead of a really looooong 5 pound novel, this story comes to you in at least three parts. The first two installments are the most innovative and entertaining reading experiences I've had in a long time. Book 2 is not just a continuation, though. It's amped up. More of everything. Drama, action, violence, suspense, political and philosophical conflict, broadening scope, answers to the many questions raised in Book 1. Put all the answers in Book 1? What's the fun in that? There are layers to this story and much of the joy is in the discovery. New facets are revealed with much more to come. The waiting is so deliciously painful. And worth it. Ramsey -- Engaging and entertaining follow-on to Book I : Book I established the premise: A historical investigation of a post-apocalyptic, theocratic society on the verge of collapse. An investigation is conducted by the inimical professor Myagi within a dream. Not one dream, but dreams within dreams! An alien species, the marai, are attempting to save humanity from this collapse. But why? The protagonist, Edda Van Dolah is both intent on bringing about the collapse and in saving her father by allying with the marai, though she doesn't understand the how or why of that either. Yet. Book II answers many of the questions posed by the end of Book I, and the Great Blasphemy, while expanding the scope of intrigue within the marai, the colonists of Lunteren and aws Fist. Why I was attracted to this book (I have hundreds of other books to be read.) was the title. Dreamworms. You and a classroom of students are taken into dreams of people of the past. And then you are taken into their dreams. How this is done is by a race of aliens who can enter dreams with their technology. And they are really strange aliens. How they settle differences is pretty cool. Are they helping us or for other reasons? I can't wait for the next book. Highly recommended. (Read the first one, then jump into this one.) The people of this village was taught when you turn 27 years old, you should go to the Joyous land, but not everyone believed in that. The non-believers had burnt the houses down that the people was killed in and lots more trouble was brewing! Elections were coming up and the people wanted a change for there were many ripples of discord. Interesting book. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 15, 2021 )

We follow the lives of Edda and Aline while they try to learn more about the power of dreams, in hopes of fixing or changing the rules of their society. Intriguing and compelling. There are two stories happening alongside each other and it's really interesting seeing the present day character development unfold as they learn about the characters in their past.
